What your child will learn
- Tool safety: safety glasses on, clamps hold the wood, and the 5 workshop rules.
- Measure & mark: read a ruler in inches and mark a straight line with a square.
- Saw straight: cut wood in a miter box, a kid-sized saw that keeps cuts square.
- Drill, screw & hammer: use a hand drill, a screwdriver and a hammer (a clothespin holds the nail, not fingers).
- Sand, glue & paint: smooth edges and give the project a real finish.
- Follow steps & finish: work through a build one step at a time and feel proud of it.
