About this class
A 2.5-hour weekend class for ages 10 and up. Kids work like real makers: read a simple plan, measure accurately, cut with a pull saw, drill and assemble, and test and improve what they built.
What your child will learn
- Shop safety like a pro: clamps, safe saw grip and a tidy bench.
- Read a plan & cut list: measure accurately in inches and millimetres, like a carpenter.
- Real tools: pull saw, square, clamps, hand drill and screwdriver.
- Strong joints: join wood with glue, screws and nails, and learn which joint is strongest.
- Engineering thinking: test the build, find what to fix and make it better.
- Simple science: levers, forces and how strong joints work.
