Young Builders

First real tools, done safely. Kids learn the basics step by step and finish a real project. $129 total · $50 deposit · max 8 kids.

What your child will learn

  • Tool safety: safety glasses on, clamps hold the wood, and the 5 workshop rules.
  • Measure & mark: read a ruler in inches and mark a straight line with a square.
  • Saw straight: cut wood in a miter box, a kid-sized saw that keeps cuts square.
  • Drill, screw & hammer: use a hand drill, a screwdriver and a hammer (a clothespin holds the nail, not fingers).
  • Sand, glue & paint: smooth edges and give the project a real finish.
  • Follow steps & finish: work through a build one step at a time and feel proud of it.
